Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth. Félix González-Torres, Untitled (L.A.) 1991
We had just taken this shot and a guard comes into the room and says something like, “You cannot take photos. I am surprised they didn’t call me,” and points up at a security camera.
“Really?” And he says, “Yes, photography is not allowed,” and points at the information card on the wall. But then he is nice and says, “Go ahead and finish up.”
It was excellent and it made me laugh. When I saw the guard later, I thanked him for being cool about it and added that it was perfect when he told that we weren’t supposed to be doing it. I am sure he thought I was insane.
